Where it started

The name isn't a metaphor.

Macro Mornings began as a discipline before it was a research business: read the overnight session, work out what actually changed, and write it down before the European open. Do that every week and 2 things happen. You stop being able to hide behind vagueness, because last week's words are still there. And you start noticing the difference between a market that has repriced and 1 that has simply moved.

4 years later the format hasn't changed. The audience has: what began as a note for a few dozen readers now reaches 55,000+ investors, and the same framework produces a monthly institutional report used inside investment firms.

A firm can argue with a view. It can't argue with a committee that never signs one.

Why a single author

Accountability is
the whole product.

Large research houses distribute responsibility until nobody holds it. A note is approved by 3 desks, hedged by a 4th, and by the time it reaches a client it says everything and commits to nothing.

1 author can't do that. Every call is attributable, every reversal is visible, and the record accumulates whether or not it's flattering.

Teaching and speaking

Explaining macro out loud

Based in Italy, teaching and speaking around the world. Macro that can't be explained to a room is usually macro that hasn't been thought through.

A room is the hardest audience

A written view can hide behind qualifiers. A room can't: either the argument holds when spoken out loud in 3 minutes, or it doesn't.
